Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 7, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how ephraim-unuigbe.com ("we", "us") collects, uses and protects your personal information when you visit the site, purchase books, download a free eBook, subscribe to our newsletter or contact us.

1. Information we collect

We only collect information you provide or that's needed to fulfil your order:

  • Identity & contact: name and email address.
  • Shipping details: postal address and phone number for delivery.
  • Payment information: processed directly by our payment provider (Stripe). We never see or store your full card number; we only receive a confirmation token and the last 4 digits.
  • Order history: items purchased, prices and dates.
  • Communications: messages you send via email, the contact form or chat.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, pages visited and basic analytics — collected via cookies.

2. How we use your information

  • Process and ship your order, and send order confirmations.
  • Deliver requested free eBooks and digital downloads.
  • Send the newsletter — only if you've subscribed.
  • Reply to enquiries and provide customer support.
  • Detect fraud, prevent abuse and comply with legal obligations.
  • Improve the site through aggregated, non-identifying analytics.

3. Third-party services

We share the minimum data necessary with trusted providers who help us operate the site:

  • Payment processing: Stripe handles all card transactions under their own privacy policy.
  • Shipping & fulfilment: postal carriers receive your name and address solely to deliver your parcel.
  • Email delivery: transactional emails (order confirmations, eBook downloads) and newsletter emails are sent through email service providers.
  • Hosting & analytics: our hosting provider processes server logs; basic analytics help us understand site usage.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data.

4. Cookies

We use a small number of cookies to keep your shopping cart working, remember your session, and measure site performance. You can disable cookies in your browser settings — some features (such as checkout) may not work without them.

5. Data retention

Order and tax records are kept for as long as required by law (typically 6–7 years). Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe. Support emails are kept while needed to provide ongoing service and then deleted.

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
  • Ask us to delete your data, subject to legal retention rules.
  • Withdraw consent for marketing emails at any time (use the unsubscribe link in any newsletter).
  • Object to processing or request restriction in certain cases.

To exercise any of these rights, email info@ephraim-unuigbe.com. We'll respond within 30 days.

7. Children's privacy

This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards (HTTPS, encrypted databases, limited staff access) to protect your information. No system is 100% secure, but we work to minimise risk and respond promptly to any incident.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
